World peace requires the understanding of Human nature

“What is the role of understanding in establishing world peace?”

Very great. We can't establish world peace without understanding why we can't achieve and sustain world peace right now.

We have to understand why we keep helplessly repeating the same vicious historic cycles as we seem to be hellbent to repeat the events of the 1930s and 1940s on a global scale.

The root cause for all of this is the same, inherently self-serving, self-justifying, individualistic, hateful and exploitative nature that drives all of us.

And until we recognize, accept and correct our inner program, we will never be able to rise above the vast, inherent differences, above seemingly irreconcilable diversity in order to learn how to use these differences, contrast to mutually complement each other and build a mutually responsible cooperation in order to facilitate Humanity's collective survival.

Peace won't come from everybody becoming the same, it won't come by suppressing, erasing certain qualities, people, nations. Peace will come only when we learn how to unite above everything that presently separates, rejects us from each other.
