Without the right diagnosis, we cannot heal

Question from the Internet:

“What can be done to improve the situation before a more serious crisis occurs?”

In order to improve the present, steadily worsening situation, we would need to know the reason why we ended up in this situation.

Getting the right diagnosis is the single most important thing, and in our case, it is also the most difficult.

It is the most difficult because we need to recognize and accept that it is our own inherently selfish, egocentric, individualistic and exploitative nature that drove humanity through the recurring, vicious historic cycles and helped us to the edge of a very real threat of self-destruction.

The “more serious crisis” you pointed at — we can trigger any moment from multiple causes at many different locations — includes a nuclear world war, total socio-economic collapse, a more serious and incurable plague or natural disasters we cannot handle since we are incapable of working together for the sake of everybody.

If we could accept that in order to solve our mounting global problems and safeguard our collective survival, we need to change ourselves — instead of blaming, correcting or destroying others — and how we relate to others, the rest is almost easy.
