Without feeling low, despaired, we can’t develop, rise higher!

Question from the Internet:

“Right now, I feel depressed and sad. Everyone is angry about the Corona Virus, politics, how terrible music is and so on. How should I deal with all this negativity?”

We can deal with negativity only if we recognize that it is purposeful, and that without revealing such a low, negative state we wouldn’t be able to rise to a higher, develop further.

We are “simple” creatures, driven by basic, egocentric “pleasure/pain” calculations. And pain, feeling uncomfortably is a much stronger motivating sensation than pleasure.
Ideally we need both.

We need a strong sense of our present state being intolerable, unsustainable, while we also need a “shining”, positive future state we can aspire, make efforts for. Then in between the two we have enough fuel, motivation to start making efforts.

Most people are depressed, in helpless despair right now, as we all feel the terrible state of our world, we feel how we are inevitably sleepwalking towards a global catastrophe, but we don’t see any higher, realistic, future state we could aim at, work for.

Seemingly we have already tried everything, we failed even with liberal parliamentary democracy and free market capitalism, all different combinations of ideologies, structures, systems with no avail.

Still, there is a silver lining.

In this seemingly hopeless, lowly state we are in, more and more people started to understand that the root cause of all our problems - and also behind history’s recurring vicious circles - is our inherently selfish, egocentric and exploitative Nature that drives all of us.

This is what makes us incompatible with Nature’s integral, interdependent system and this incompatibility is literally killing us.

Thus it is exactly this lowly state and the necessary recognition of our inherent incompatibility with Nature serves us with the opportunity to start changing, upgrading ourselves, making ourselves compatible with Nature’s system.

This way we can complete our Human development above and against our inherent incompatibility.

Without feeling low, despaired, helpless we would never consider changing ourselves, finding another way of relating to each other and reality.

Moreover when we reach our goal, the seamless integration into Nature through the reached compatibility, the contrast, the sharp comparison we will feel against our present, lowly state will validate, confirm the perfection we will feel in that state.
