Without addressing the root cause, all our “solutions” are futile!

Question from the Internet:

“Is social media contributing to the loss of our humanity for one another?”

We have to put the cause and effect chain in order. Social media, politics, society, culture, everything humans do and build is only the consequences.

The root cause is the human nature that drives us and governs everything we do.

And since human nature is inherently self-serving, self-justifying, egocentric, subjective, and exploitative, everything humanity ever built, invented, used serves this “cancer-like” ego that blindly leads us.

From this, we can understand how futile and self-destructive are all our “solutions” when we try to address, treat the symptoms, the consequences instead of dealing with the root cause.

On the other hand, it is fully understandable. We would rather do anything, even burn the whole world to the ground than accept that we ourselves need to change.

So the question is very simple: how much suffering, blows, crisis situations, loss of life do we need to grow through before we accept that we ourselves need to change? Or perhaps there are some wise people who start self-changing, self-correcting before the blows?!
