Will ChatGPT change humanity?

This very much depends on how we use ChatGPT.
ChatGPTm AI or technology in general are simply tools in the hands of human beings.
What we achieve with these tools depends solely on our intentions and goals.
Some people think or believe that with AI we will create some autonomous consciousness that will take control over and even make human beings obsolete.
This is a completely unfounded belief.
We do not even know our own consciousness, we have no idea where human consciousness resides, where it comes from or how it works. How could a very misguided and limited being, that is still trapped into its own, inherently subjective, egocentric and individualistic perception of reality create a “supreme and perfect” consciousness?!
We equate consciousness or superirity wityh the ability to make a vast number of precise calculations according to data fed into the system.
But consciousness, emotional faculties, desires and existence based on them has nothing to do what computers or even AI can do.
Human society will further develop only when we start to learn and attain who we are, what fdesires, goals and intentions move and govern us and how we can become concious of them and use them purposefully. AI can effectively work on mundane tasks – or work on destroying our “competitors and enemies” and help us manipulate and control others – since at this stage these arte the goals and intentions we use everything with.
But if we truly want to know who we are, why we are Human beings, what our consciousness means and what it could become, we have to look somewhere else than ChatGPT…
