Why we do not have peace?
Question from the Internet:
“How do interpersonal conflict resolution and understanding cultural diversity promote peace?”
We do not have “peace” because we cannot resolve interpersonal conflicts and we do not understand cultural diversity.
”Peace” – according to the Hebrew translation of the word, “Shalom”, which originates from the notions of “wholeness”, “completeness” and “complementation” – we will have true peace when we learn how to mutually integrate above our instinctive distrust and animosity towards each other and despite the vast diversity and differences between people and nations.
We are all born uniquely different and opposite to each other. According to our inherently subjective, egocentric and individualistic viewpoint and standpointbwe consider everybody else as “others”, as “aliens” that we need to compete and fight against. Human life is about survival and success at the expense of others.
And when it comes to the crucially important mutual problem solving and solution finding for our increasing global problems that threaten our survival, we are desperately helpless in rising above the instinctive self-interest and the drive to overcome, defeat and destroy others.
So we will need to learn how to rise above our instincts and our inherent type of behaviour and existence. We need to learn and practice to build nature-like mutual integration between us above and against that separates us from each other – without oppressing or erasing anything from our original qualities and uniqueness.
It is specifically this conscious and proactive “rising above our original nature and instinctive behaviour” that will make us “truly Human”, consciously and willingly becoming similar to nature’s finely balanced and mutually integrated system.
It is this conscious and purposeful Human development that will make us nature’s only fully conscious, seamlessly integrated and at the same time independent observers and equal partners.
This is actual purpose of our Human life, to achieve this “true peace” and mutual integration between us above and against our inherent nature, collectively and mutually. Everything else in life is only order to guide us towards this purpose. We have nothing else to do in life but to achieve this, everything else we do is futile and slips through our fingers and chains us to the animal level of existence!
