Why can’t people unite?

Question from the Internet:

“Why do humans put in so much effort not to be united?”

In truth, we do not have to put any effort into “not being united”.

Not being united is natural for us.

We are all born with an inherently egocentric, subjective and individualistic nature. We constantly and stubbornly fight for individual freedom and individual rights. We all feel that we exist in a hostile world where we have to constantly compete and fight for our success and survival. We survive and succeed at the expense of others — knowingly or unknowingly.

This instinctive sense of “me against the world” is the tragedy of humanity.

This total inability to build positive, constructive and, most importantly, sustainable human interconnections and mutually complementing cooperation between individuals and nations is the root cause of all our historical and contemporary problems.

We unite — temporarily — only when it is already too late when some terrible common tragedy or disaster or the common hatred towards a common enemy brings us together. But true, “baseless” unity is something we can’t even comprehend as it is not in our egocentric, subjective and individualistic nature.

And this is literally the end of us since, at the same time, we exist in a fully integrated and interdependent world, where without unity, without mutually responsible and mutually complementing cooperation, there is no life. And now, we are actually and practically dying as a global human society!

Our continuing and collective survival depends on a special, purposeful and practical educational method that can teach us how to unite above and against our inherent nature.
