Who is the greatest enemy of peace?
Question from the Internet:
“Who is the greatest threat to world peace in 2022?”
You have already received many, varied answers to this question from others, identifying certain people, parties, nations as the main enemies of peace.
I would look at it differently.
As long as we search for the “evil ones” in society, as long as we search for the “enemies of peace” in other people, in other nations, religions, cultures, ideologies, we are missing the point and we will never achieve peace.
The truth is, we are all born with an “evil and warmongering”, inherently selfish, egocentric, subjective, and individualistic nature. We all — knowingly, unknowingly succeed at the expense of others and Nature. This is of course not evil or sinful since we are all born this way, with this inner program without free choice.
But we also all have the ability to recognize these “evil and warmongering” traits inside of ourselves and then start changing, upgrading ourselves so we would all become able to build positive, mutually responsible, and mutually complementing connections, cooperation with each other — above and against our inherent nature that cannot be suppressed or erased.
So instead of blaming, correcting, canceling others we all need to recognize ourselves with the help of a “brutally honest mirror” (a special environment assembled for that purpose), and then with the unique method provided in that environment, we can learn how to become mutually peaceful.
No people could justly ask what happens if others do not do this yet? What happens to dictators, terrorists, evil politicians, and their cronies?
This is not our concern, we can never, ever change, influence others through coercion, oppression, threats, misleading propaganda, we already have the vast historical experience of how futile, short-sighted, and self-destructive this is.
As long as small, critical mass of people start changing themselves, willingly, proactively, methodically together, their positive example will ‘shine” through an increasingly darkening, collapsing global world, ravaged by wars, plagues and socioeconomic collapse.
Then the small, self-changing, self-upgrading environments will become the rescue boats that can take on those who are escaping the sinking Titanic or our present civilization, following all the previous sinking civilizations destructed by our inherent nature.
