Where is our future: American Dream, or adaptation to Nature?

Question from the Internet:

“Is Westernization necessarily and practically Americanization?”

“Western culture” is basically the development, full expression and “sanctification” of the individual self, pursuing individual rights, individual freedom, endless individual pleasure and profit at all cost, above everything else.

It is the pure, unadulterated expression of our inherently self-serving, self-justifying, egocentric and subjective nature.

And America, the American Dream is the most crystallized expression of this “Western ideal”.

There is nothing wrong with it, this represents the final form, the peak of instinctive human development. Regardless of what anybody says or feels, instinctively we all yearn for this “Western/Americal ideal”, expressing and developing our individual self to its maximum potential while fulfilling ourselves with all the available pleasures as much as possible.

There is only one problem.

Nature’s fully integrated, finely balanced system does not work and develop according to this instinctive human ideal. In Nature, life is created and is sustained by the totally selfless, altruistic, unconditional mutual integration and cooperation of its parts.

And while each element in Nature — inanimate, vegetative or animate — has its own instinctive survival reflexes, each thriving to safeguard their own survival and the propagation of their species, they never pursue their individual survival at the expense of the general balance and homeostasis that is crucial for life and optimal development.

Thus the well-being, the most optimal state of the whole always overrides any individual or subjective calculations. But not in human beings.

Human beings do not have the instinctive, “in-built” sense of mutual integration, belonging to the whole system, and the constant sense of mutual responsibility and obligation to uphold the general balance and homeostasis. This is why we exist and behave like cancer, thriving at excessive overconsumption and ruthless competition when we succeed at the expense of others and Nature.

This is why America represents this cancerous human lifestyle and behaviour in the most obvious and sharpest form. And since this lifestyle has become the norm everybody aspires to, we are now on the brink of seemingly inevitable self-destrustion. Again it is nobody’s fault, we developed to this state blindly, instinctively following our inherent nature.

But we also have the uniquely human ability to recognize this, and also recognize and accept that it is our inherent nature that drove us to such a state, while also driving all the recurring, vicious historic cycles.

With the help of this recognition, we still have a chance to turn our development around. We can — with the help of a unique, purposeful and practical educational method — choose the developmental path, the laws and mutual integration of Nature, instead of staying in our present, inevitably self-destructive direction.

Our actual, unique, unparalleled Human quality and advantage in Nature’s system is this conscious ability to adapt ourselves to Nature’s system and its evolutionary direction towards the most optimal, mutual integration.

With this conscious, willing and purposeful adaptation, we can become Nature’s only conscious, integrated but at the same time independent observers and partners, “taking over benevolent management”.
