When are we at war against ourselves?
Question from the Internet:
“How are you at war with yourself?”
The “war with myself” started when I realized that I am constantly at war with others, that knowingly, unknowingly, through the constant, ruthless, exclusive competition, trying to succeed at their expense I am causing harm to others.
Moreover. I also recognized, that since we exist in a fully integrated and interdependent system, by causing harm to others at the end I am also causing harm to myself, and any negative input, any negative influence I “inject” into this integral system comes back to me multi-fold.
This led to the recognition, true need to start an “inner war” against my selfish, egoistic, exploitative instincts, so above and against my inherent tendencies I could at least not harm others, or if possible, exert a positive, mutually responsible, mutually complementing influence over them, towards them.
This is not possible to practice, achieve on my own since I am extremely weak to do anything with my own inherent tendencies, instincts. But it is possible to “wage this inner war” against my own ego in a unique, mutually committed, mutually supportive and mutually complementing environment, where each tries to help the others to win this war against their own egos.
This is how we can build mutual peace with the help of the “war against our egoistic self”.
