What should we pray for?!

An article in The Jerusalem Post:

My comment:

We have to pray and seek assistance “from Above.”

When we look at Israel, when we see how the toxic infighting, undermining each other, and the so-called “unfounded hatred” is brewing even before winning the war, it is clear that we are helplessly powerless in defeating our main enemy: our own, inherently and 100% self-serving, self-justifying, egocentric and exploitative nature.

We need to recognize that we are all driven by thoughts and calculations that are only about ourselves and that, most of the time, we — knowingly or unknowingly — succeed at each other’s expense.

Not only Jews but all human beings. This is how we are “created.”

We are born with this “unfinished” and cancer-like nature in order to give us the possibility to take our own development into our own hands and fashion ourselves according to a different “image”: the image of totally selfless and unconditional love and bestowal towards others.

The unique method our predecessors received deals only with this: how to reform the inherently selfish, hateful, and exploitative individual so one becomes able to “Love another as yourself” and thus build human societies that are based on unconditional unity and mutual guarantee.

We cannot do this without reality’s single creating and operating force as only this force can upgrade our inherent nature. But we have to ask for it and agree to this upgrade willingly and consciously!
