What should compel us to become better?
A question from the Internet:
“Does it help with life knowing humans are the most advanced species, or does the frightening possibility of a more advanced life form compel us to better ourselves?”
I think what should compel us to develop further is the recognition that we could achieve a qualitatively much higher state and sense of existence.
We are potentially the most advanced species, but not in our present state.
We haven’t reached the pinnacle of Human evolution; in truth, we haven’t even started our “truly Human” development.
So far, we have been blindly and instinctively developing by the constant drive of our inherently self-serving, self-justifying, subjective, and exploitative egos.
It has been this insatiable driving force in us — that wants to consume everything for its own, that wants to ruthlessly compete and fight against everything and everybody and wants to succeed at the expense of everything and everybody that drove our incredible cultural, social, and technological development while also taking us to the brink of self-destruction.
It is in this state of near-self-destruction that more and more people start to awaken with the question about the purpose of our existence and role in nature’s system.
This very realistic existential danger and the totally aimless and self-harming dead-end our societies reached should initiate a unique self-examination and critical self-assessment that can lead us to recognize that our inherent and instinctive nature will literally kill us.
From that recognition, we will also develop the need and ability to initiate a unique self-upgrade, self-developmental process that will lead us to become “truly Human.”
A “truly Human” being is one that willingly and purposefully changes and further develops oneself to rise above one’s inherent nature and achieve similarity and integration with nature’s finely balanced and mutually integrated system through nature-like and benevolent integration with other people — above and against our inherent nature without suppressing or erasing anything.
A “truly Human” being acquires the ability to harness and positively use even one’s original, insatiable, and cancer-like ego for the benefit of others and the whole system.
It is this “truly Human” development that we need to start now. With this, we can take our fate into our own hands and achieve our rightful place at the pinnacle of natural evolution as the most unique and influential species of all that partners nature’s single, life-creating, and life-nurturing force.
This is determined and obligated by nature’s evolutionary plan. Moreover, when we agree to start this process and start to make efforts for it, we immediately receive the necessary assistance and guidance from nature’s developmental forces that can help us practical change and further develop ourselves above and against our original nature.
Nature’s evolution will provide the “upgrade,” but we need to consciously strive for it and want this upgrade.
