What is the true reward, wealth we need to live for?
Question from the Internet:
“Why is money more important than humanity?”
Money is not more important than humanity. Money simply expresses where we place importance, what we consider as the purpose of our lives.
We are all born with an inherently self-serving, egocentric, exploitative nature, we are all driven by an insatiable desire for more pleasures, more resources, more profit for ourselves and we all enjoy — knowingly, unknowingly — success at the expense of others.
Money as a fetish symbolizes this, as we set out as our purpose in life to become wealthier, more powerful, more respected than others and in our societies, all of these are based on material worth. We rank ourselves according to monetary value, and what aggressive forces, means we can operate against others. On the other end, those who are left behind this race worship, envy, and covet those who “made it”, and if they had the opportunity they would act and live exactly the same way.
This is how we are built, there is nothing evil or sinful about it. And nothing will change as long as we all blindly follow our egotistic, greedy, ruthlessly competitive instincts.
We can consider “money”, the attributes, aspirations of wealth, greed, control of others as our “external clothing”, the intention, the purpose we direct our lives and desires with. But we have an option to find a different “clothing”, aspiration, intention, and purpose for our lives which could change everything.
If we finally recognize how harmful and destructive — also self-destructive — our initial “modus operandi” is, and we are willing to learn from Nature’s finely balanced, fully integrated system its direction and purpose — creating and sustaining life — then we can turn our human existence around completely.
In Nature each and every integrated, interdependent element works, makes calculations only for the benefit, the sake of the whole collective, instinctively sensing their unique, crucially important, irreplaceable role in the “circle of life”, allowing the mutual “energy exchange, communication” to stream through the selfless, mutually responsible and mutually complementing interconnection network.
If we adopted this direction, intention, purpose — and frankly we do not have a choice, since if we do not adapt willingly, proactively, Nature will inevitably force us against our will — then we can develop, acquire a completely different, qualitatively much higher sense of collective existence.
Just as the cells of our own biological body combine and co-exist, cooperate to produce the consciousness, perception of reality we experience as individual persons, by building the same mutual integration between us, becoming as selflessly interconnected and cooperating “single cells” in Humanity’s living organisms — which is in turn also integrated within Nature’s “body” — we can start experiencing an unprecedented collective consciousness.
Humanity is the only part of Nature with the ability to become Nature consciously integrated but independent observer, partner. This is our true reward, the wealth we need to aspire for, make efforts for!
