What is the “subconscious”?

Question from the Internet:

“How does the subconscious affect the final choice of the consumer?”

What we usually call the “subconscious” is our all-encompassing, insatiable and irrepressible desire for pleasures and fulfilment for ourselves.

This “core” desire for pleasures then developed through history from the original, animate desires for food, sex and family through the social pleasures of wealth, control, power and fame and knowledge.

Our consumerist society is doing nothing else but refines and intensifies our basic desires so we would yearn for fulfilment for them beyond our actual necessities.

Marketing, the entertainment industry and the different “influencers” are basically playing on our inherent desires like on a musical instrument, while, of course” they are also played on since we are all the same. The only difference between us is where we are situated on the “food chain” of consumerism and constant mutual exploitation.

We all exist in the suffocating “Matrix” that our inherent desire for selfish pleasures weaves around us, and we cannot escape until we finally start to get to know ourselves and all the forces and intentions that drive us.

Then we can start a gradual process of “peeling out” our Human observer from the shells and web of blind and instinctive self-serving, self-justifying, individualistic and exploitative urges until we acquire a pure, selfless observer “point” that can exist and behave independently, freely in a truly Human way.
