What is the “soul”?!

Opinion from the Internet about human existence:

“Regarding existence forget the earth. It is going to eventually cease to exist. It does not matter. Eventually, it will be gone. YOU will not. Worry about the condition of your soul because you will always exist- where will you be? This is not a condemning or judgemental question. I am serious! I am terrified at where I will be but I am aware of what we are up against and I cannot ignore it. It matters to me. Try to walk the right path and don’t stop praying, caring, and trying. It's a big deal….”

I fully agree with you, this is the main question. Unique, empirical scientists have been saying, writing about for millennia that what we feel as a physical reality is an illusion. It does not mean that it will be gone after some catastrophe, or when the Sun explodes, it means that it only exists in our present perception.

But the problem is that as long as our perception of reality, our consciousness remains on its inherently egocentric, subjective, limited, and distorted level, we tangibly, realistically feel ourselves in this physical reality, associating ourselves with the biological body we feel ourselves existing in.

So what is the soul then?! How can we start perceiving the “real” reality, that is non-physical?! Just as you asked, where will I be then, what am I in that reality?!

Here we encounter an interesting paradox.

As long as “I” feel “myself” existing and care only about “my” own existence, “I” remain trapped in this physical illusion with the biological body that is born and then it dies and disappears, “me” disappearing with it.

But if “I” learn how to exist “outside of myself”, through the desires, viewpoints of “others” — who “I” perceive as others right now — then I find “my soul”, that collective, mutual, non-physical entity, where the “I” exists only as a selfless, altruistic, unconditionally serving entity, liberated from the subjective, egoistic boundaries of time, space and physical motion.

Then, “I” exist as part of the general, single, all-encompassing “soul” that contains everything “I” perceive right now as the still, vegetative, animate, and human Universe.

This is something we can all start feeling, tangibly existing in while still “living” in our present physical illusion, but as we enter ever deeper into sensing “real reality”, the physical illusion gradually fades away.

“Being Human” means reaching that selfless, altruistic viewpoint — above and against our originally subjective, egotistic viewpoint — that feels itself part of the “soul”, the single, living being, mutually integrated organism ever created.
