What is the role of science and education in society?

Question from the Internet:

“Should it be the goals of science to find scientific and technological ways to make every dream come true, and of leadership to ensure that happens — no matter how absurd the dream — instead of acting as a collective dictatorship of fact?”

This question will turn from theoretical to practical when we finally understand that we do not exist in a “free system” where we can dream, want and aspire for whatever we want.

We can adjust our lives to a normal flow only when we finally understand and actually feel that we exist in Nature’s lawful and deterministic system where strict, unchanging and unforgiving laws of Nature govern a general balance and homeostasis life depends on.

The role of education, science and technology has to be to research and help people understand these laws of Nature so we could successfully adapt to how Nature’s finely balanced and mutually integrated system is organized and how it operates.

Then we will not get confused by our inherently illusory, individualistic, egocentric and subjective dreams and aspirations, but we will willingly and consciously adjust ourselves to Nature’s life-creating and life-sustaining system.

It is this conscious and willing adaptation to Nature that will make us “truly Human” and sciences, education and every other means we have should support this process.
