What is the biggest problem facing humanity?
--
Question from the Internet:
“What could be the biggest future problem for the entire world?”
The biggest, potential future problem is the extinction of the human race, or at least a devastating blow leaving only a handful of people alive.
And we can arrive at such a blow even in this generation — through wars, environmental disasters, unmanageable plagues, and other reasons — within our or in the next generation.
We are on track towards this devastating scenario as we are more and more incompatible with the fully integrated and interdependent Natural system we are born from, we exist in, we evolve with.
We are incompatible as we keep blindly, instinctively following our inherently “cancer-like”, egocentric, subjective, individualistic, and exploitative nature — that drives us towards excessive overconsumption, ruthless competition, survival, and success at the expense of others and Nature.
Fortunately — unparalleled in Nature — we also have a unique human intellect, capable of critical self-assessment, capable of initiating crucial self-changes, self-adjustment through which we could avoid the above-mentioned disaster.
Thus the time has come to start using our — so far dormant — unique Human intellect, and to learn — through the appropriate, purposeful and practical method — how to act above and against our egoistic, exploitative instincts in order to build the Nature-like mutual integration, co-existence and cooperation our continuing survival depends on.
