What is next?!

Question from the Internet:

“Will society collapse? No pessimism, please!”

I do not know if you read Isaac Asimov’s “Foundation” book series (at the moment Apple TV+ is making a mockery of it in a new series). In that, the protagonist, a unique scientist shows the all-powerful leaders of the Galactic Empire — ruling the Galaxy for centuries — that the collapse of the Empire is imminent and in fact, it has already started.

He can show it through mathematical formulas, based on the predictable, instinctive behavior of large masses of people, how the future unfolds.

And while those books and the story is of course fiction, science fiction, there is no difficulty “foreseeing the future” while people behave, develop according to their blind, instinctive original nature. We have all the helplessly recurring, vicious historic cycles behind us, and all the easily predictable reactions, “solutions” of our own generation when facing problems, conflicts.

Our own present human system is already collapsing, we have been on “life support” treatment, through all kinds of manipulations and with the usual “solution” of “kicking the can” for decades. Our societies have no purpose, no future goals, apart from blind, purpose-less consumerism, trying to amass power above others, wealth to make us richer than others we have nothing else that motivates our day to day lives.

As the lukewarm reactions, ignorance in relation to the pandemic, in relation to climate change, pollution, vast socioeconomic problems show, we do not even care about our own survival, let alone about the survival of our children, grandchildren, etc.

This is not pessimism, these are the facts. We are not pessimistic, we are depressed and empty and hopeless, so we turn to drugs or dissolve into the brainless, incessant “circus and bread” mass media entertainment so we would not need to think or change anything, especially as changing anything would mean changing ourselves and the way we live.

I am actually optimistic because I am studying a unique, empirical, Natural science — that is a little similar to Asimov’s “psychohistory”, based on fact, based on the intricate knowledge of human nature and the fundamental laws of Nature’s system.

And according to this science, we have a beautiful, positive, qualitatively much higher future ahead of us, that is predetermined by Nature’s evolution. The question is not whether we will reach that optimal state. The question is if we reach it swiftly, proactively, consciously, avoiding unnecessary suffering on a scale we can’t even imagine yet, or we continue our blind, instinctive, egotistic, and exploitative ways until intolerable suffering will force us to change?

We have the same choice Asimov’s protagonist posed to the leaders of the falling Galactic Empire. Do we want to hasten and mitigate the inevitable transition towards a very different, Nature-like, consciously, mutually integrated global Human society where we all become like single cells of the same living organism?

We are not facing some arbitrary human ideology, philosophy, religion, or mysticism, we are not facing a human judge that can be bribed, misled, ignored. We are facing Nature’s strict, unchanging and unforgiving laws that necessitate the seamless, unconditional, mutual integration of each and every part, element of its system, including Humanity.

So what is our choice?!
