What happens if individuals do not contribute to the well-being of society?
Question from the Internet:
“What happens to the people who don’t contribute to the wellness of society?”
This is a very important question for our time when we have evolved into a globally integrated and fully interdependent human society.
In such a system we all have absolute mutual responsibility for the well-being of the whole. We are all individual cells of the same, single, living organism and if we do not find and fulfil our most optimal, mutually complementing role in the system we cause harm. And we cause harm even if we do not do anything since our crucially necessary, irreplaceable contribution to the life of the whole is missing.
Now none of us has this sense and understanding in us by default. We all honestly think that our responsibility stops with our families, relatives and workplaces. We simply do not have the sense of mutual responsibility for humanity and the Natural system beyond, we do not instinctively feel ourselves as an integral part like animals do for example.
Thus we all need to purposefully, consciously learn this mutual interaction, interdependence and the subsequent absolute mutual responsibility. We need a special educational method that can give us not only the understanding but actual, “visceral” sensations and emotional impressions of this interdependence.
Then we will understand and already feel that the moment we do not contribute we cause harm, and we will also understand and feel that when we cause harm to the collective, we inevitably cause harm to ourselves as well.
