What explains human behaviour?

Question from the Internet:

“What are some biological and environmental factors that can explain human behaviour?”

It is clear that biological and environmental factors influence human behaviour. Moreover, with the help of the right environment, we can even influence and improve human behaviour — and we can worsen it through the wrong environment.

But to truly understand human behaviour, we need to learn about and understand our actual “matter” and driving force: the insatiable, irrepressible and ever-growing desire and need for pleasures and fulfilment for ourselves.

This all-encompassing desire and our 100% egocentric and subjective calculations to move towards greater pleasures while moving away from the pain determines, influences and drives everything we ever do.

This basic human desire built and destroyed civilizations and created the presently collapsing and self-destructing human system we live in. This selfish and individualistic desire in us causes the incessant conflicts and wars we go through and the crisis situations that plague our lives.

Unless we understand and accept our basic matter and driving force and learn how to control and harness it, nothing will change, and we will blindly and haplessly continue to destroy everything, including ourselves.
