What drives human history?

Question from the Internet:

“Why has history become more dividing than unifying?”

This is because human history is the chronicle of the ever-growing, ever-intensifying human ego which drives all of us.

This insatiable, incessantly self-serving, self-justifying, exploitative and individualistic ego is behind everything we have ever done and still do. It is this unique human ego that separates us from other developed primates. Although we originate from the same root and started from the same natural conditions, while chimpanzees and orangutans for example remained virtually unchanged for millions of years, we are probing galaxies and trying to colonize other planets.

But while this ever-growing ego propelled our unique development, the same ego also makes us behave like cancer with each other and within Nature’s fully integrated and interdependent system.

And this cancer-like behaviour has become absolutely sharp and impossible to ignore in our generation. It seems we are ready to go to a nuclear world war to justify ourselves over others and gain control. We stubbornly and recklessly continue to excessively overconsume and we do not care if we destroy the planet that gives us life, instead, we want to do the same to other planets as well.

Thus at the peak of this historic separation and deep conflict between individuals and nations we need to wake up from blindly following our egocentric and subjective instincts and we will need to learn how to act and develop above and against who we are born to.

Either as a result of increasing suffering and intolerable crisis or as a result of a wise and conscious self-development we will need to rebuild humanity according to Nature’s finely balanced and mutually integrated template. This has nothing to do with any of our arbitrary, baseless ideologies, philosophies or religions that are all built and developed by the same inherent human nature.

We cannot stay incompatible with Nature’s system and its laws if we want to survive.
