What does the future hold for us?
Question from the Internet:
“Is this world destined to be a very dark place? If yes, why?”
This really depends on how we look at it. Our present, mostly Western civilization is heading for collapse.
And this collapse is truly inevitable since our “Western values” — fierce and proud individualism, defining the purpose of life through quantitative growth and excessive consumerism, ruthless competition at the expense of others and Nature — are incompatible with Nature’s strict laws and the general balance ad homeostasis of the whole system.
On the other hand, this inevitable collapse is a “cosmic wake-up call” and an opportunity to start again and build a much better and qualitatively much higher global human civilization.
We have reached this inevitable dead-end by blindly and instinctively following our inherently self-serving, self-justifying, individualistic, and exploitative nature through history’s recurring and vicious cycles.
We have a unique human intellect, capable of critical self-assessment and recognizing the pressing need to change our behavior and existence. With the help of the right, purposeful and practical method, we can start taking our human development and our fate into our own hands, building a Nature-like, finely balanced, and mutually integrated human system.
In this case, the present collapse and the threatening darkness will turn out to be a “necessary evil,” and it depends only on us how soon we recognize the need to change and further develop ourselves instead of sinking even deeper into crisis.
