What does it mean that we are “Human beings?”
Question from the Internet:
“Why are we beings?”
We are “beings” as we exist, and we exist out of our choice; we are “created.”
And we are “human beings” as we have the uniquely “Human” ability to recognize who we are, what our purpose is, and how and why we were created. Moreover, through such purposeful and conscious self-recognition and self-realization, we can also attain and understand the source that created us.
We are born from nature, according to evolution’s deterministic plan, given existence by a unique combination of forces that also govern nature’s life-creating and life-sustaining system.
But humans, although we are born from nature and still remain integral parts of nature, instinctively feel themselves outside of and independent from nature. And this sense of being “outsiders” and being independent constantly grows. Thus from the early “hunter-gatherers,” we have become totally individualistic, self-serving, egocentric, and exploitative modern humans.
We have become the quintessential “beings” in nature’s system, beings that sense themselves as separate entities, compared to the rest of nature — still, vegetative and animate — which remains automatically and instinctively integrated and embedded in nature.
On the one hand, our sense of independence and presumed superiority in nature brought us to the brink of self-destruction and extinction. On the other hand, without this independence and feeling ourselves outside of nature, we would have never had the chance to develop into “truly Human” beings that can fully recognize themselves, control themselves, and become similar to nature so we could attain and understand the natural system “from within.”
Only from this alienated, outsider, and independent point of view can we become purposefully and consciously similar and integrated into nature while also retaining an independent observer viewpoint and the conscious ability to willingly partner with nature.
If we were not born independent outsiders, we would have remained like any other animal, unconsciously fulfilling our predetermined role within nature without any awareness of the beauty and perfection of the system.
Thus it is not enough that we are “beings.” We have to become “Human beings” that achieve conscious and proactive similarity and integration with nature above and against our original nature. It is this unique, uniquely Human duality — similar above dissimilar, compatible above incompatible — that will help us fulfill our unique and very high evolutionary Human purpose in life: to become the natural systems conscious mind and partners.
So first, we have to recognize how harmful, incompatible, and self-destructive we are by birth, we also have to understand it is not our fault or sin since evolution purposefully created us this way, and then we can start methodically and gradually developing ourselves until we achieve the above-mentioned duality and “truly Human” state in nature.
This is a very realistic and scientific process, and we have the right method to use, we just need to recognize the revolutionary state we are in, seemingly a step away from certain self-destruction, and still, at the birth of true, conscious, and perfect Humanity.
