What do we need to do in order to achieve true peace?

Question from the Internet:

“Considering all the things that are happening in the world right now, can our vision of world peace ever come to fruition?”

We can achieve true peace, but for that, a simple vision is not enough. In order to achieve true peace, first of all, we need to recognize and accept why we can’t achieve peace right now and why we could not achieve true peace all throughout history.

The reason is that we are all driven by an inherently self-serving, self-justifying, fiercely individualistic and subjective nature. We define ourselves through constant comparison to others and make everything we can to prove ourselves against and above others.

Moreover, we actually enjoy controlling, exploiting and defeating others, and we purposefully succeed at the expense of others and nature.

Only when we recognize and accept this can we start to find a way to build and maintain peace and mutually complementing cooperation above and against everything that separates and rejects people and nations from each other.
