We will return to “normal” when we finally learn what “normal” is

Question from the Internet:

“Is there any prediction of when the world will return to normal?”

The world “will return to normal” when we finally identify what that “normal” is. Otherwise, we will blindly, violently swing from one crisis to another, going from one vicious historic cycle to another.

In truth, we have never been in a “normal” state in human history until now, as our whole development has been driven by the “abnormal/unnatural”, instinctively self-serving, self-justifying, exploitative human ego.

To be fair mostly this ego propelled us to a unique, unparalleled development in Nature. While the other developed primates we originate from a similar root with remained unchanged for millions of years, humanity is “reaching for the sky”.

We can compare this egoistic phase of human development to the extraordinary growth we see in childhood. But if we remain growing, expanding in adult life as in childhood, then we develop diseases, cancer as after the quantitative growth we need to switch to a qualitative growth in our biological bodies, maintaining a fragile balance, homeostasis.

It is the same with us. Since we are still expanding, consuming excessively, ruthlessly competing with each other and Nature, humanity has become like cancer in Nature’s system. We are destroying each other and the planet recklessly, without any consideration about our short or long-term future.

After “humanity’s childhood” based on mostly quantitative growth, now we need to switch to a more qualitative growth, focusing on the connections, interaction, cooperation between us as “individual cells” instead of measuring everything in accumulating resources and material wealth.

The “normal” we need to seek, study and adapt to is what “normal” means in Nature’s balanced system, where the homeostasis life depends on is sustained by strict, unchanging laws. Humanity, each of us will need to consciously recognize those laws and proactively, methodically adapt to them.

Only through “Nature-like”, mutually responsible and mutually complementing interconnections, living within the optimal parameters of available resources and natural necessities can we sense life, human existence in a normal way and facilitate our long-term survival within Nature’s fully integrated, interdependent system.
