We should choose the “path of wisdom"
Question from the Internet:
“Is it inevitable that humanity will ultimately destroy itself? Why?”
We have the potential to destroy ourselves but we won’t. Nature built in a failsafe mechanism called survival reflex in all living creatures, including Humans.
This means that at the end — just before we self-destructed completely — we will turn around and start changing ourselves.
This can happen in two ways.
One is the so-called “path of suffering. If we “choose” this path (meaning we continue to blindly follow our inherently self-serving, self-justifying, exploitative cancer-like nature) we will go through increasing, finally intolerable suffering as a result of crisis situations, socioeconomic collapse, wars.
There might be only a “handful" of people who remain out of the 8 billion, but then they will start changing themselves and adapt to Nature’s laws that sustain the balance and homeostasis life depends on.
The other option is the “path of wisdom", human beings consciously recognizing their incompatibility with Nature’s laws, choosing to purposefully, methodically change to adapt themselves to those laws before the blows, suffering comes.
This is our only actual free choice in our life, Human development.
