We need to rise above subjective populism

Question from the Internet:

VWhy does globalization cause support for populist movements, particularly right-wing populism?v

It is quite a complex question.

I don’t think globalization had much to do with populism. Perhaps now through the global mass media, social networks, entertainment industry it is much easier to broadcast ideas, movements, “bandwagons” than before.

Then what is populism?!

I feel that anybody who wants others to follow, any politician who wants to be elected turns to others with promises, “popular ideas”.

So when Trump is promising things for example and gets elected he is populist, but when Obama was promising many things and got elected he wasn’t populist?! It would be interesting to see how many of his promises came into action, reality?

Also we see everything completely subjectively, from our own point of view. For you right-wing ideas seem to be spreading. I am quite certain, that there would be many who feel the opposite, saying that most of the world media, entertainment industry - with the exception of only a few countries - has become the propaganda machinery for liberal, leftist views in a constant war against conservatism, against the right.

What we need to learn in our global age - when according to Nature’s evolution - we have become locked into a closed, fully integrated and interdependent system all over the world - that it doesn’t matter what we think from our own point of view. It doesn’t matter how much we hate, reject each other.

In this global, integral system - like being locked into the same boat - we won’t survive unless we can to tolerate one another above the instinctive, growing distrust, animosity - and find place for all in a mutually responsible, mutually complementing manner.

We can’t suppress, we can’t erase each other, only together - specifically as a result of our opposition, tension, disagreement - can we find the right balance, the way to complement each other.

And this has nothing to do with any political ideology, philosophy, religion or spiritual teaching.

We have to do so according to Nature’s unchanging laws that sustain balance and homeostasis between the system’s extremely diverse, seemingly incompatible parts, elements.

So it doesn’t matter what is “popular” according to our inherent viewpoints, above that we need to connect to obey Nature’s laws, as without it we won’t survive, our common ship will continue to sink until we all drown.
