We have to relearn “Being Jewish!”

An article in The Jerusalem Post:

My comment:

In order to help “lost Jews return to “true Judaism,” first, we have to rediscover and rebuild the original foundations of “true Judaism.”

This is something most Jews — religious and non-religious — have forgotten a long time ago.

“True or original” Judaism predates the relation we know as “Judaism” today.

When we carefully read the Torah and listen to the greatest sages in our history, we will find that the single most important “Mitzvah” in Judaism is “Love your friend as yourself.”

Even when we only “stand on one leg” and still want to study the Torah, then at least have to learn and practice “Not to do to others what we also hate.”

The original “constitution” of Israel is mutual guarantee where each Jew pledges to become absolutely and unconditionally responsible for each and every other Jew; when we become “as one man with one heart” as a result of this “supernatural” — above the instinctively egotistic, exploitative and hateful human nature — unity.

Even our unique connection to reality’s single governing force is only through attaining similar qualities with this force, which qualities are the above-mentioned “brotherly love” and the unconditional responsibility for others.

Moreover, we also have the obligation to showcase our unity and mutual guarantee to others so all of humanity can learn and practice the “Jewish method” as the only ideology and template of human survival above and against our instinctive nature.

It’s not easy to be a Jew but we don’t have any other choice!
