We have to fulfill the basic conditions of “Zionism!”
An article in The Jerusalem Post:
My comment:
Our sages said that we have to consider that the Torah is constantly given from above, but we have to fulfill certain conditions to receive it again and again from our side.
Indeed, the Jewish people have a “God-given” right to exist in the Land of Israel, but in order to convert this right — in a way that it becomes beyond any doubt and dispute — we also have to fulfill certain conditions.
And the condition is that we have to become a “true Nation.” We have to become like the original Nation of Israel, accepting the same conditions they accepted and pledged to.
We also have to become a Nation “as one man with one heart,” existing and behaving through absolute mutual guarantee by fulfilling the principle of “Love your friend as yourself” above and against the inherently selfish, egoistic, exploitative, and hateful human nature.
Seemingly, our physical exile ended in 1948, but our “spiritual exile” still continues as our Nation is still not based on its original foundations, and as a result, even we ourselves can’t agree on the “Jewish character” of our nation, and we can definitely not convince others that we have right to exist in our Land.
If we want to successfully pursue our Zionist movement, we have to accept and pledge to the given conditions.
