We have to develop “true faith!”

An article in The Jerusalem Post:

My comment:

“Faith” is very important. “Faith” and the “prayer” based on this faith is our only actual connection to the single force that creates and governs life.

On the other hand, as long as this “faith” is blind — as we usually consider and feel it — it is easy to lose when we receive terrible blows and suffering in life.

This is why our great sages explain that “blind faith” is not enough.

We have to develop a different kind of “faith,” which is actually a new quality in us — with the help of the actual method of the Torah, together with others, towards others.

“True faith” means achieving at least a minimal amount of similarity with the qualities of that single creating and governing force.

This force is characterized by the qualities of absolute and totally selfless love and bestowal. Our sages explain that acquiring “faith” means acquiring this “godly quality” of absolute and selfless love and bestowal toward others and that force, above and against our inherently selfish, egoistic, and individualistic nature.

Through this acquired similarity with the “Upper Force,” we can actually attain and understand this force to measure the similarity we achieved.

“True faith” gives us a solid and unbreakable foundation and connection to the single creating and governing force of reality.

As a result, it is a “faith” we do not lose but only strengthen and further develop.
