We have the ability to change ourselves and survive

Opinion on the Internet about Human ability/disability to cooperate for survival:

“I see no such trend and believe it is wishful thinking. The fact that America, ostensibly a peaceful nation, started two horribly useless wars in the 20th century plus the stupidly divisive tactics of conservatives plus much more point to a genetic problem with human nature likely inherited from hunter-gatherer tribes.”

You are correct in describing our present state and how Humanity has evolved for millennia. And as a result, we are en route towards seemingly inevitable self-destruction.

But I do not think that reaching a conscious, mutual cooperation, even global unity above the inherent diversity, instinctive distrust and hate is wishful thinking.

After all, we have no other choice!

If we do not awaken now, within this generation, seeing all the signs around us pointing to a carbon copy repeat of the events of the 1930s-40s culminating in a global, nuclear war, then we will exterminate ourselves very soon. If we remain within our instinctive limitations, leaders all over the world will pull the trigger, applying the only “historic solution” they know to an unsolvable global crisis: War.

And it can come from many different nations, and it can come both from the left and the right, it does not matter who the President, Prime Minister, the ruling party, or social, political, economic ideology, system is. That would be our inherently selfish egotistic nature — which drives all of us — self-consuming, self-destructing like cancer.

Fortunately, we have a unique survival reflex that can activate our special Human mind, capable of critical self-assessment, ability to initiate self-change.

Thus even if a small, but critical minority has the necessary sensitivity and willingness to start the obligatory self-changes — applying Nature’s template of integration, mutual cooperation above, and despite diversity — they can pull Humanity towards safety.

This is the “story” of our generation, right here, right now!
