We do not need to speak; we need to act!
An article in The Jerusalem Post:
My comment:
It is true that Moses spoke. But he did not speak to the “nations of the world.” He spoke to Israel.
And what did Israel do?
They said, “We shall do…” and they acted.
How did they act?
They pledged to become a Nation of “one man with one heart,” living through mutual guarantee where each Jew became 100% and unconditionally responsible for each and every other Jew.
This is how they became a Nation and merited the Torah.
We also know from our sages — most notably from Rav Yehuda Ashlag and Rav Kook — that Israel’s unity is not solely for Israel’s sake.
Instead, Israel needs to show a “shining” positive example for everybody else on how it is possible to build and maintain unity and mutual guarantee above and against the inherently self-serving, self-justifying, and exploitative human nature.
Israel is the only Nation that can keep “brotherly love” against an above the instinctive and incessantly awakening “unfounded hatred.”
We do not need to speak up. We also need to act in the same way our predecessors did.
And when we provide the crucially necessary positive example, the only method for the self-destructive humanity’s survival, there will be no need for speeches or Hasbara. The actions will speak for themselves.
