We completely misunderstand Nature!
Question from the Internet:
Why is nature so sadistic?
Nature is not sadistic at all, it is a system that creates, sustains and nurtures life. In Nature nothing is accidental or obsolete, each element from the tiniest to the vastest is mutually contributing to the general balance and homeostasis that is the foundation of life and optimal development.
We judge Nature through our own, inherently misguided, completely egocentric and subjective perception and consciousness. We see death and destruction in a system that only cares about promoting life and continuing existence.
For example, when we observe predators hunting and eating prey, we usually do not notice or understand that the predator filters the weakest link out of the species of the prey, facilitating its most optimal survival and propagation. At the same time, the predator takes only what it needs for sustenance and leaves the rest of the carcass to secondary predators and scavengers.
When we, out of our misguided and arbitrary calculations interfere with the natural balance and kill predators as they “disturb us” we create vast problems, and great harm as we distort the previous perfect balance.
It is time we learn how Nature truly works and how that general balance and homeostasis is sustained, as in order to survive we will have to rebuild human society instead of our present, “sadistic”, ruthlessly competitive, and excessively overconsuming, cancer-like form to resemble Nature.
Only human beings are capable of consciously, willingly and purposefully adjusting themselves to Nature’s perfect system, this is our unique, evolutionary Human advantage in Nature. And the system provides us with all the means and the blueprint to achieve our unique purpose in the system.
