We can make everything positive by changing ourselves

“Is the nature of social media leading to negative changes in human society?”

It is true that social media and the mass media, in general, are poisoning humanity, it brainwashes us like the “Matrix” to become mindless robots, all following the same manipulative ideas, values, goals.

But it is important to find the cause and effect chain behind this “Matrix” as without identifying the primary cause our solutions will remain symptomatic and futile.

The primary cause for this inhumane and destructive Matrix we exist in is our own inherently self-serving, self-justifying, subjective, and individualistic ego that is behind everything humanity has ever built, invented so far.

We ourselves built this Matrix that enslaves us! But we can’t escape from it, we can’t destroy this Matrix without changing our inherent nature in the first place.

In fact, if we changed how we relate to each other, to the world, if we changed with what intention we do everything we do, we could use everything we have, all our technology, including the Internet, and social media for positive, constructive, collective goals and purposes.

Everything depends on us, on the users and developers. When we change, the whole world will change with us.
