We are the product of the human environment we exist in
Questions about the influence of society on our development:
“Are humans a product of their environment?”
Yes, we are. All our values, aspirations, goals, behavioral patterns come from the environment we live in. And even if we go against the actual environment, we are also influenced by it but in a negative way.
Since we are social creatures and evaluate ourselves and everything by comparing ourselves to others, knowingly, unknowingly our environment constantly shapes us, polishes, or roughens us until we can become completely new people as a result.
This is why our only truly free choice in life is creating or building the most optimal environment that will “produce” us, develop our best abilities in the most desirable manner like a “human incubator”.
“Can the place where I was born influence my destiny?”
Everything we encounter, that happens to us can influence our destiny.
But overall we can define 4 factors that make us who we are:
- Our genetic inhertitence
- The different qualities, characteristics, abilities that originate from this genetic “seed”.
- How external influence modifies, augments, or suppresses those characteristics, qualities, and abilities.
- The actual external factors that influence us like the natural environment, upbringing, education, and the actual society we live in.
From this, we can see that what really determines our destiny is the actual society, the immediate human environment we choose or create for ourselves.
