We are the product of our environment. Are we happy about how we turned out?
Question from the Internet:
“How can a society shape an individual?”
I will turn your question around: Who else would shape an individual if not society?
After all, at the end of our teenage years, we have already received our upbringing and education — which is also most influenced by society and the customs within which we exist. And from then on, all our values, goals, aspirations, the way we dress, speak, and make love, and the things we covet, “elect,” and consume are 100% influenced and determined by the smaller or larger society around us.
And today, this constant societal influence is constant, reaching us from 360 degrees 24/7!
We do not even notice how we are constantly brainwashed. And even if previously, the influence on us from the media, entertainment industry, and TV, and radio was “incidental,” now it has become a precise, highly refined, and polished propaganda machinery; it has become a science. Those who control it can measure all the effects on us and can adjust “on the fly” to achieve with us exactly what they want.
We exist in a real-life Matrix we ourselves built with our inherently self-serving and self-justifying egos. We have become enslaved by ourselves and cannot escape.
We are the product of our environment; since this environment is rotten, aimless, and unnatural, we are the faulty and lifeless products that are born without free choice, die without free choice, and bundle through a robotic life without any free choice.
If we want a different product, then we need a different society with different values, goals, and aspirations and with a totally different upbringing and education.
