We are still not ready for the truth

Question from the Internet:

“What truth do you believe that society isn’t ready for?”

At the moment we are still not ready for the truth, that all the problems humanity is suffering from, all the helplessly recurring, vicious historic cycles, and our present, seemingly inevitable march towards self-destruction is caused by the inherently self-serving, self-justifying, egoistic, and exploitative nature that drives all of us.

Even if we reveal, recognize the human ego as the problem, we recognize it in others but not in ourselves, as a result, all our “solutions” are about changing others and the world around us while accepting, justifying ourselves as we are.

We are like cancer patients who — fearing the devastating diagnosis — try everything to convince themselves that they surely do not have cancer but that something else is causing their worsening state. And when they finally go to the doctor it is already late as they are full of metastases.

Without revealing, acknowledging the “human cancer” we are all born with, without developing an absolute need to cure, change ourselves — instead of blaming, trying to change, coerce others we cannot stop our present individual and collective “death spiral”!
