We are born like addicts

Question from the Internet:

“Why are people so obsessed with buying new stuff day in and out, when that is literally the cause for the suffering of millions of people all across the globe?”

While this is clear and obvious for us theoretically — like a drug addict, alcoholic understanding that their addiction can cost their health, life — when it comes to action we can’t stop ourselves.

We are all born with an insatiable, irrepressible, selfish desire for pleasures, trying to obtain, consume everything for ourselves at all cost.

Until we correctly, honestly recognize this 100% selfish, egotistic, subjective inner drive in all of us, we have no hope to find the right remedy, like a cancer patient who delays going to the doctor fearing the diagnosis and the remedy.

Only when we know what is the root cause of all our problems — our own selfish ego — can we start to learn how to control, harness this incredible power source in us towards positive, constructive and most importantly collective goals purposes.
