We are all driven by the same selfish ego
Question from the Internet:
“Are we an ethical people, or are we a mob hierarchy?”
We are inherently selfish, egocentric and individualistic people, each making calculations for one’s own benefit while succeeding at the expense of others.
Now some are better at this than others, some are hungrier than others to get what they want and are more willing to sacrifice themselves and others for their own benefit. This is what renders human society along a pyramid model with the most selfish and exploitative minority ruling over, controlling and manipulating the less selfish and less exploitative majority.
But we all have the same nature and if we want true changes in society, if we want to build a better, safer, relatively equal and sustainable society, we would all need to willingly and purposefully change and further develop ourselves.
As long as we stubbornly refuse to look at ourselves and recognize who we are and what intentions and goals drive us, as long as we keep blaming and wanting to correct, change or destroy others, we will just continue to repeat the same historic mistakes and stumble into the same crisis situation until we collectively self-destruct.
