Waking up in the “real-life Matrix”

Question from the Internet:

“How did The Matrix rekindle your faith in humanity?”

The Matrix gave us a very unique, graphic, emotional insight into the illusory, artificial life we all exist in.

Many people received a “last push” by the movie to examine their lives, what and why they are doing, to see how much we are under the complete control of our environment that manipulates us 24/7.

Many people also received a true, irrepressible desire to escape this real-life “Matrix”, while others — the majority — seem content to remain in the “Matrix” even when we know it is not real, even when we know how much we are all manipulated and we have absolutely no free choice — like Cypher in the movie who actively wanted to return to the “blissful ignorance” of the Matrix”.

The real difficulty comes when any of us wanted to disconnect from our “real-life Matrix”, since, first of all, we would need to identify what, who is keeping us there, from whom, from what we would need to liberate ourselves from.

This is when we reluctantly realize and have to accept that there are no “evil machines”, there are no evil “others”, some concealed elite that enslaved us, but it is our own, inherently egoistic, self-serving, self-justifying, individualistic, and exploitative nature that created this Matrix and locks us there.

If we want to escape our “real-life Matrix” we need to disconnect from, rise above our own inherent nature to find freedom and a completely different dimension of human existence there.

This promise gives me faith in humanity, this promise of recognizing our own inherent nature as the evil tyrant controlling us and when we recognize this we can start our path towards true freedom and a truly Human existence.
