Unemployment will inevitably rise in the post-Covid era, but we can find new, truly Human activity for people
Question from the Internet:
“Will tomorrow, especially those who think they can live in the post-Covid world of work as if Covid-19 hadn’t happened, will remain unemployed? What do you think about it?”
On one hand, unfortunately unemployment will greatly rise in the post-Covid era, as most non-essential production, services will gradually screech to a halt.
Our socioeconomic system — built on reckless, unnatural, excessive overproduction and ruthless competition, success at each other’s expense — has been in perpetual crisis for decades, and now the pandemic gave this dying system its final blow.
Although on the surface politicians are bullish, pledging billions, trillions of — mostly virtual — dollars for bailout, stimulus packages, but they will be as effective as giving oxygen to a corpse.
Unemployment is a great tragedy, as beyond the financial, material certainty people who are unemployed loose their sense of belonging, usefulness to society.
This drives people to depression, alcohol or drugs use, families break up. Nevertheless the “old system" can’t be resuscitated as it is incompatible with Nature’s laws that sustain the balance and homeostasis life depends on, so it had no right to exist in Nature’s strict, lawful system.
So we will have to find completely new, different ways of securing everybody’s modern, natural necessities, while also providing people active, useful, mutually responsible and mutually complementing roles, purpose in society.
And that activity will be building completely new, nature-like interconections, integration that will give the infrastructure, fabric of a new, global human society which will exist in harmony within itself and with Nature.
All we need is the right, natural, practical educational method.
