True changes can start only “from below”

Question from the Internet:

“Can down-top movements really change the world, or do only top-down movements have chances?”

I think we have enough historic and present-day experience to conclude that “top-down” movements can’t change the world, simply because those who are on top have absolutely no interest in changing anything, moreover being locked into their ivory towers they can’t even understand the need for change as they became completely disconnected from the lower part of the pyramid.

And when we understand that any changes in the world can unfold only when people first of all change themselves, focusing on mutually responsible, mutually complementing connections, cooperation, making calculations for the benefit of the whole collective above and against the instinctive selfish calculations, ruthless competition against others, we can see how much only an unprecedented rebuilding process that starts from the grassroots can be successful.

Those on top would never agree to change themselves, or to change the way they look at the world, their only effort is to hold onto their power, wealth, fame, glory.

Only those who are relatively free, as they are not fully locked into the prison of their own egos can even entertain the idea that they need to change instead of stubbornly trying to change, correct, cancel others for their own sake.
