Question from the Internet:

“How and why has trade and business existed throughout almost all of human history?”

Trade and business are the external expressions of the relationship between Human beings.

We are social creatures, living in social environments from the very beginning. And we have to live off reach other as nobody can be self-sufficient, especially not in our very specialized, modern times.

The form of the trade, business and the governing structures facilitating them describe the quality, form of the actual, prevalent Human nature, mutual relationships to each other, like slavery, feudal societies, different industrial societies based in capitalism, socialism, communism, or today’s globally consumerist society.

Thus the governing system, trade and business are only secondary, arising from the relationships between people in Human societies. This is why trying to improve things directly through politics, economy, social movements has been futile, causing the helplessly recurring historic vicious cycles.

True changes can occur only if we change how people relate to each other first.
