Total perception of reality — outside of ourselves
Question from the Internet:
“How do you perceive the world around you?”
By default, we all perceive the world around us in a completely egocentric, subjective way, through multiple, personal filters.
Beyond the specific qualities of our sensory organs, it is especially the “computing”, the interpretation of the signal, data, information received that is completely introverted, serving only our 100% self-serving, self-justifying, individualistic calculations based on a fundamental “pleasure/pain principle”.
Each and every calculation, assessment, every decision we make is about getting ourselves closer to greater pleasures while distancing ourselves from actual or expected pain, suffering.
Basically with our original consciousness, perception we are all locked into a “black box” with 5 openings (for 5 physical sensory organs) and inside the box, our personal computer builds a picture of reality, which reality serves, supports our 100% subjective, egocentric existence.
We can acquire a very different, truthful, and objective perception of reality, if we manage to escape our original box, learning to perceive, compute reality “outside of ourselves”, outside of, independent of any self-interest.
We can practically learn this and achieve a “total perception” even beyond the subjective, egocentric boundaries of time and space with the help of the appropriate, purposeful and practical method.
This method teaches us how to sense, feel, experience, and perceive reality through the desires, thoughts, opinions, and viewpoints of other people to the point of completely forgetting about ourselves, existing purely in others, with the single aim to selflessly, unconditionally altruistically serve, support others.
So while we “lose” our egoistic, subjective self, we gain a total, perfect perception, sense of unlimited, eternal reality — here and now.
