Total Freedom
Question from the Internet:
“What is the extent of freedom human beings should have?”
Human beings are capable of achieving the greatest and totally unlimited freedom.
This might sound like a paradox when we all started to realize that we all exist in a globally integrated and fully interdependent world.
Moreover, it is not enough that we all exist in a globally integrated and fully interdependent world; we are also integral parts of nature’s lawful and deterministic system.
And while we usually believe that we can make our own decisions and we can control our fate, humanity has been proud of building our own systems based on our own arbitrary human laws; we are actually fully controlled by nature’s laws and evolution’s relentless drive, whether we are aware of it or not.
In truth, until now, human history and development have been a totally blind and instinctive affair.
Nature’s evolution has been “single-handedly” pushing us to where we are through manipulating individuals, nations, and the whole of mankind through our inherently self-serving, self-justifying, subjective, and individualistic egos.
Until now, no individual, nation, or collective has made any truly free and conscious decisions. All our thoughts, decisions, and actions were automatically and instinctively made by our original, 100% self-centered “pleasure/pain” software.
Whatever action, event, or cycle we observe in history, whatever we do individually or collectively even now, has been made based on this very simplistic “pleasure/pain” software driving all of us, and we have absolutely no ability to act in any other way.
Nature’s evolution is not random, and this process does not drive us through our egos toward some blind alley without an actual plan or purpose. Humanity has a unique, very high, evolutionary Human purpose in nature’s system. And nature’s evolution will drive us, push and pull us to that goal and purpose with or without our consent.
But human beings, unparalleled in reality, were given the chance and opportunity to become conscious partners in this process. We can learn and practice what evolution is expecting from us. We can learn and accept the unique purpose evolution predetermined for us and can start willingly, consciously, and proactively adapting ourselves to that purpose.
Our “only” true freedom in existence is this conscious and proactive adaptation to the process we have to go through in any case. But if we take on this free choice, we will choose the next step and take a step towards it before nature’s system forcefully and almost always unpleasantly pushes us to that state.
This step towards a future state which we would need to go through anyway, but making that step consciously, by our own efforts, choosing what nature would force on us later willingly and with total consent, will put total control into our own hands.
It does not matter that we are doing what the system would force on us anyway. The fact that we actually choose to do what the system expects from us because we already understand that that is the best possible step to make, and by that, we benefit ourselves and the whole system, making us practically and realistically the masters of our own fate and the masters of the whole system.
Through this process, we become nature’s “wise disciples,” who — through willingly and consciously partnering with the system — reach such a tangible and “visceral” feeling as if we ourselves designed and operated the system. In that moment of making the decision and the step towards a state nature’s system is expecting from us but not forcing us to do yet, we sense total and infinite freedom, holding reality in our own hands, feeling as if we could do whatever we want.
This is what is ahead of us, and this is what we are supposed to start achieving from our generation onward.
