There is a method for humanity to rebuild itself
Question from the Internet:
“Do you agree with “The Daughter of Auschwitz” that humanity can rebuild itself?”
Yes, I agree, humanity can rebuild itself.
But in order to rebuild ourselves, we need to know why we need to rebuild, what was wrong before, why our history is a helplessly recurring chain of vicious cycles and why we are on the brink of self-destruction right now.
After all, even in medicine, we can only poffer the right treatment after we have already established the right diagnosis.
So far, we did not have this right diagnosis. All our “solutions” and “remedies” were arbitrary and symptomatic. We kept focusing on each other, trying to find the “evil ones” in history or human society so we could destroy them and give space to the “good ones”. And then, “surprisingly”, new “evil ones” appear again and again, even from within the previously “good ones”.
We invent arbitrary ideologies, philosophies and religions, and try building societies based on them. Then when we fail we disqualify the previous “methods”, offer new ones, only to fail again. Then we try the already failed and disqualified ones again and again, lurching from one extreme to the other.
But we never dare to go beyond the superficial and symptomatic layer, as we fear what we find there.
Today, we have reached a state, that unless we go beyond the superficial layer and start finding the actual root cause, and then start applying the right remedy, we will simply not survive. There might be a handful of people who can surviev what awaits around the corner, but they will also need to recognize and treat the root cause to avoid an otherwise inevitable repeat.
The root cause of all of humanity’s historical and contemporary problems is our own, inherent human nature. We are all – without exception – born with a 100% self-serving, self-justifying, egocentric and individualistic nature. We all make automatic calculations only for our own sake, at any given situation, in any given conditions. Moreover, knowingly or unknowingly, we all survive and succeed at each other’s expense, since we are all irrevocably integrated and interdependent.
So as long as I make all calculations only for myself, I inevitably harm others and the whole system. There are no “evil vs. good” ones in society. Based on our inherent nature, we are all “evil”, only our conditions, abilities and the hunger and willingness to use and exploit everything differs.
So if we want to rebuild humanity, we have to change and rebuild ourselves and our mutual interconnections with others first. That will be scaffolding for the new world.
