The UN is unsuitable for any true global coordination
Question from the Internet:
“What’s the point of having the UN if the powerful countries do whatever they want? It seems to bully only Small and poorer countries in terms of human rights, civil wars, corruption etc., but they don’t even say anything publicly towards powerful countries?”
You are right. The UN has become a pointless circus, just another platform for the most powerful nations to do whatever they want.
Actually, lately, they do not even bother to pretend to show as if the UN approved what they are doing. While Russia unilaterally attacks another country to force its will on others, the US single-handedly directs and manipulates the response — and actually provoked the war, to begin with — while others like Europe spinelessly bow to everything the US dictates, even doing illegal things against Russian civilians and assets. At the same time, China is doing its own things “in the background,” and so do other developed or developing nations.
Meanwhile, the UN is completely silent…
The sad thing is that in this globally integrated and fully interdependent world we have evolved into, we will not comprehend the mounting global problems, let alone find solutions for them without global coordination and cooperation.
But it will not be the UN directing it.
We will need to develop completely new, mutually responsible, and mutually complementing global connections and cooperation from below, from the grassroots — above and against everything that instinctively separates and rejects individuals and nations from each other.
This requires a completely new, uniquely purposeful and practical educational method, which, again, will not come from the UN but from other sources.
