The seemingly irrational path to peace

Question from the Internet:

“Is it irrational to think that there could ever be an end to all wars?”

It is not irrational at all, but in order to end all wars, we have to do something that is “irrational”, unacceptable to our inherent nature, to our self-serving, self-justifying egos: we have to change ourselves.

It is our instincts, inherent nature that constantly drives us towards ruthless, exclusive competition, success, survival at the expense of others, to prove that we are better, stronger, higher, more powerful, more controlling, wealthier than others.

And when things go wrong we immediately blame others and try “solving” problems by changing others and the world around us.

True peace can come only when we learn how to exist, behave, mutually interconnect, co-exist and cooperate above vast diversity, against the instinctive distrust and animosity which will never go away.

In order to end all wars, we have to win the war inside ourselves, we have to defeat, harness, and control our own egos. There is no other solution.
