The right motivation
Question from the Internet:
“What motivated a drastic change in your life?”
We are “simple” creatures, motivated to change either by intolerable pain or by an irrepressible attraction towards pleasure.
If we look back in our lives, we will find those two motivating forces behind everything we have done. If we have neither pain nor a desire for fulfillment, a pleasure to pull us, we stay put and “hibernate”.
The wise person combines the two and instead of physical pain, physical suffering one uses “pangs of love”, an irrepressible, insatiable yearning towards something positive to be the “suffering” pushing one forward beside the positive attraction towards pleasures.
This we can most effectively use, establish in the right, mutually supportive, mutually complementing environment where people aiming towards the same goal make that common goal increasingly attractive, important for themselves and each other, so even the so-called “negative qualities” of envy, jealousy, desire for more, desire for respect can help the propel each other towards the positive, common goal.
Since I am in such an environment I have been incessantly progressing forward without feeling any negative physical pressures, pain obligating me to move as I am constantly propelled by constant positive motivation.
