The “primordial desire” driving Human existence
Question from the Internet:
“Without want or desire, would humanity never reach the point it is at today?”
Of course not! Moreover, without want or desire, we would not even exist! Our actual “matter” or engine is a desire.
We feel alive, and we are driven to everything we ever do by a “primordial desire” to survive and to realize ourselves.
For most of our lives, we do not feel and we are not aware of this “primordial desire” that makes us exist. Instead, that “original desire” is scattered into myriads of other desires we can categorize into the desires for food, sex, family, wealth, fame, power and control over others, and knowledge.
These are the desire “categories” that consciously drive us through our day-to-day existence.
And as long as we remain unaware of our “primordial desire,” these more superficial and physical desires drive everything we do in a blind and instinctive manner.
The whole of human history is an unconscious and automatic process as numerous human beings are all blindly trying to implement and fulfill their desires that give them goals, aspirations, and purpose.
How humanity develops and how actual human society looks is the result of the constant clashes and merging of individual desires on an increasingly global stage.
Additionally, our desires become more and more selfish and egoistic as we develop, from the early “hunter-gatherer” times until today, when we have all become maximally self-serving, self-justifying, egocentric, and individualistic. We have reached a time when we all want our excessive and unnatural desires to be fulfilled immediately and without any compromises.
We have all become like “cancer,” trying to consume everything we can only for ourselves without any respect or consideration for others and the overall consequences. This is why humanity is now on the brink of self-destruction.
At the same time, in more and more people, a seemingly “new” desire awakens that keeps asking about the meaning and purpose of life, especially seeing and feeling the aimless and wanton consumerism and destruction all around us.
But this is not a “new” desire. It is our primordial desire to finally awaken, trying to turn and guide us toward the actual reason and purpose for which we were born.
There is a reason why nature and nature’s evolution “created” human beings. There is a way we can truly realize ourselves and our “truly Human” potential. And now, when our 100% egocentric, subjective, and selfish development has exhausted itself, the time has come to start learning about and implementing the actual reason we were born.
We are living in a truly revolutionary and historic time since this is the first time human beings can start a conscious and purposeful development toward becoming “truly” Human Beings. The time has come to recognize and implement the “primordial desire” that gave us existence.
